The rig will drill for local operators off the west coast of the North Island and the top of the South Island. One of the wells is located right on the edge of the continental shelf making it the most isolated well yet drilled in New Zealand waters. OMS will supply drill and catering crew for the rig.
Operations on the FPSO Raroa located on OMV’s Maari field continue with production hitting 40,000bbls a day at its peak since first oil back in February 09. On the back of this is the announcement of another discovery nearby at the Manaia field which effectively doubles the amount of recoverable oil. The life expectancy of the field is anywhere between 10 – 15 years. OMS supply around 50 production and catering personnel to Tanker Pacific’s FPSO Raroa and assist with the logistics involved with the project on an ongoing basis. |

The Ensco 107 has completed its scheduled drilling program at OMV’s Maari field after successfully drilling the longest well yet in New Zealand. The 8 km appraisal well was drilled in a 48 day program from the Maari wellhead platform southwest into the Manaia field.
Houston based Cudd Energy’s Hydraulic Workover rig continues its drilling campaign on STOS’s Maui B platform. This is the first time this type of rig has been operational in New Zealand and is performing well for their clients STOS. After completion of the Maui B program the rig will be broken down and reassembled back on Maui A to continue their campaign for STOS.
